Kahuku Public & School Library is scheduled to host a series of six summer programs for all ages in July. Admission is free. They include "Gift of Aloha: Lei with Ribbon and Yarn," "Get A Clue, Follow It Through," "Yona Chock, the Magic Storyteller," "Slide into a New Groove with Line Dancing led by Aaron Benkman," "What’s a Mat-ter? How to Mat your Photos for Framing with Sherrill Balbirona," and "Recipe Swap Meet: Bread, the Staff of Life."

• "Gift of Aloha: Lei with Ribbon and Yarn," on Tuesday, July 3 at 6:30 p.m. Guest instructor Aaron Benkman will demonstrate and teach how to make either an eyelash yarn or ribbon lei. Participants may bring in their own ribbon or purchase materials at the program. Each ribbon lei requires 6 feet of two different color ribbons and/or one skein of the eyelash yarn. Reservations are requested; contact the library for more information. This one-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and is suitable for ages 5 and up.
• "Get A Clue, Follow It Through," Mystery Movie, on Tuesday, July 10 at 6:00 p.m. Alfred Hitchcock is not for the faint of heart nor the youngsters; however, this classic film will bring out the detective in all of us and will compliment the summer reading theme, Get A Clue @ your library. Call the library to find out the title of the movie. This two-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and is suitable for ages 12 and up.
• "Yona Chock, the Magic Storyteller," on Tuesday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. The library’s summer reading program finale will feature Yona Chock, who will combine magic, storytelling, origami, puppets, and balloon sculpting to delight children of all ages. This one-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library Kahuku.
• "Slide into a New Groove with Line Dancing led by Aaron Benkman", on Tuesday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. Put your dancing shoes on, shake out your tired muscles, kick up your heels and start moving to a fun beat with dance instructor Aaron Benkman. Reservations are requested. This one-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and is suitable for ages 5 and up.
• "What’s a Mat-ter? How to Mat your Photos for Framing with Sherrill Balbirona," on Friday, July 27 at 3:00 p.m. Participants are asked to bring 2 photos, one wallet-size and one either 5 x 7 inches or 8 x 10 inches, along with a frame. Instructor Balbirona will teach the arithmetic needed to create a compatible mat for frame and photo. Reservations are requested. This two-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and is suitable for ages 12 and up.
• "Recipe Swap Meet: Bread, the Staff of Life," on Tuesday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. The library will begin a new food program series starting with bread, its components, and delicious recipes. Participants are invited to bring their own breads for tasting and recipe sharing. A kneading demonstration and bread-baking tips will be shared. Good food and ideas go hand in hand for this kick-off series. Future programs will highlight soups, cookies, and appetizers. Reservations are requested. This one-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and is suitable for ages 5 and up.
