Police seek sex assault suspect

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in her home, then stole a number of valuables as he fled. With the victim leaving for the Mainland this week, police are particularly interested in nabbing the suspect quickly. Investigators are hoping the man’s distinctive tattoos will help in the hunt.

Homeless couple wanted by police

[ John and Jaime Kaio ]CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) request the public’s assistance in locating John and Jaime Kaio, a homeless couple wanted for domestic violence warrants. John Kaio is also wanted for questioning in a possible abuse case involving their 2-year-old daughter, and for criminal contempt and traffic warrants. Jaime Kaio is five months pregnant.

Police seek parole fugitive

CrimeStoppers, the Honolulu Police Department, and the Department of Public Safety request the public’s assistance in locating Leland Palea, who is the subject of a Parole Revocation Warrant after failing to continue drug treatment, failing to report to authorities, and threatening. Palea was last spotted on Tuesday operating a black Honda in Waimanalo. He has seven felony convictions for burglary, terroristic threatening, and auto theft. Believed to be armed and dangerous, Palea should not be approached. Instead, anyone with information should call 911 with a location and description.

Florida surfer missing

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department’s Missing Person Detail request the public’s assistance in locating Courtney Marcher. Marcher, an avid surfer, was last seen on the morning of Sunday, April 4, 2004 surfing with friends at Velzyland on the North Shore. Friends told police she said she was going back to the shore, and has not been seen or heard from since. Anyone with information may call HPD’s Phil Camero directly at 529-3394.

Visitor from England missing

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department request the public’s assistance in locating Hannah Whitehouse. Whitehouse, who was visiting Hawai`i from England with her family, was last seen at midnight on Sunday, March 21, 2004. She said she was going to get a cup of tea at McDonald’s in Waikiki and has not been seen since. Anyone with information may call HPD’s Mary Aragones directly at 529-3064.

Internet fraud suspect sought

[ Peter Ransom ]CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department request the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect who has cheated victims out of $8,000 on eBay. He uses the names Peter Ransom, Law Rence and Jeremy Johnson, and since October of last year, there have been at least seven cases in which he’s put electronic equipment and other related items up for auction but never shipped them after collecting payment.

Surveillance camera stolen

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department request the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect who was captured on video stealing a surveillance camera from the parking structure located at 802 Punahou Street on Wednesday, December 31, at 4:30 a.m. The suspect was driving a light-colored Mercury Grand Marquis. CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Section need your assistance in locating any witnesses who have information about a Dec. 27 motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in front of the Mother Rice Preschool, 2707 S.
